①【例】The packing cases are light and strong. They facilitate the storage and distribution of the goods.

包装箱既轻便又结实，便于货物的储存和销售。

 

②不能接用不定式或在宾语后面加不定式。

【例】This will facilitate our settlement of the matter.

这将有利于我们处理此事。

 

facility

【1】便利，技能

 

常接用in或with。

【例】That person has facility in [with] salesmanship.

那人有推销方面的技能。

 

【2】便利，(使工作方便的)设备

 

大多用复数形式。

【例】Our showrooms, situated in the heart of the business quarter, offer admirable facilities for display.

我们的陈列室位于商业区中心，展览商品十分便利。

 

fact 

事实，实际情况

 

①fact后面常接用以that引导的同位语从句（这类名词还有thought，idea等）。

【例】The fact that the goods were damaged in transit is clear to all of us.

货物是在运输途中受损的，这一事实，对于我们所有的人说来都很清楚。

 

②外贸中要表示“提请注意……事实”，常用... fact + that从句。

【例】We wish to call your attention to the fact that up to now no news has come from you about the shipment of the goods.

我们想提请你方注意这一事实，即到目前为止我们尚未收到任何装船的消息。

 

③经贸通信中，常用fact所组成的短语代替某一单词使用以加强语气。

【例】In spite of the fact that we clearly stated that 20 cases were to be sent to Shanghai, we now find that the whole consignment has been delivered to Dalian.

尽管我们清楚地规定20箱货要运至上海，而现在我们发现整批货物都已发运到大连了。
