②过去分词可用作定语。

【例】Please check the following forwarded e-mail.

 ③现在分词短语用作后置定语。

【例】Thank you for your letter of 22nd April forwarding booklet with details of your range of wrist watches.

感谢你方4月22日来信，该信寄来载有你方手表详情的说明书。

 

【2】远期的，预约的

 

【例】Both cash and forward copper showed large losses in the market by the end of the morning.

早市结束时，现货与期货的铜价下跌很多。

 

【3】向前，至将来

 

【例】We shall bring the time of shipment forward from August to June.

我们将使装运时间从8月提前至6月。

 

【4】freight forward运费到付

 

【例】We are arranging to send you 1 000 pens to replace the unsold balance of 970. Please return the latter to us, freight forward.

我们正安排发运1 000支钢笔，替换尚未售出的970支剩钢笔。请退回剩余的970支钢笔，运费到付。

 

【5】look forward to等待，期望

 

其中to是介词，要接用名词或动名词。

【例】We look forward to your early reply.

盼早日回复。

②与buyer，seller等用法相同，一般（时有例外）可用复数（和大写）。表示当事人的某一方。

【例】Evidently the damage occurred during transit, we suggest, therefore, that you lodge your claim with the forwarders [shipping company].

很显然货物是在运输途中损坏，因此我们建议你方向轮船运输公司提出索赔。
