【1】go against违背，与……不符合

 

【例】This goes against our usual business practice.

这是违反我们通常商业做法的。

 

【2】go bankrupt破产

 

【例】More than 1 000 enterprises went bankrupt in Europe last year.

去年欧洲有1 000多家企业破产。

 

【3】go down（价格等）跌落

 

【例】Sales have gone down very much recently.

最近销售额下降很多。

 

【4】go forward运去，寄去

 

句中谓语动词go用主动式。

【例】This shipment will go forward on s.s. “Red Star” leaving here during the latter part of March.

这批货将由3月下半月驶离本港的红星号轮运去。

 

【5】go into研究，商谈

 

【例】We shall go further into your order after receipt of your detailed specifications.

在接到你方详细规格后，我方再进一步研究你方订单。

 

【6】go into进入（某种状态）

 

【例】Large numbers of firms went into bankruptcy last year.

去年大批公司破产了。

 

【7】go out of one’s way格外努力，不怕麻烦

 

①常用简单时态（simple tenses，指现在、将来和过去一般时）。

【例】Please don’t go out of your way for us.

请不要为我们费周折了。

 

②后面可接用不定式，句式：go out of one’s way to do sth。

【例】We always go out of our way to meet our foreign customers at the airport.

我们总是特意到飞机场去迎接外国顾客。

 

③有时人们将这一习语稍加变动使用。

【例】Commodities aren’t usually sold if customers have to travel far out of their way to get [buy] them.

顾客们是不会跑很远的路［费很大力气］去买货物的。

 

【8】go over审阅，检查

 

【例】I’ve gone over the contract and found everything in order.

我把合同看了一遍，发现一切都很妥当。

 

【9】go through通过

 

【例】Imports and exports of goods must go through existing Customs procedures.

货物进出口均应向海关办理现行的申报手续。

 

【10】go through成交

 

【例】If this deal doesn’t go through, they are ruined.

如果这笔买卖不能成交他们就要破产了。

 

【11】go through检查

 

【例】We have gone through [over ] our files and find that the relevant L/ C has been sent to you.

我们查阅过档案，知道有关的信用证已寄送给你方。

 

【12】go up上升，（价格）上涨

 

【例】Most people will continue to buy a brand even if the price goes up.

【2】好的，良好的

 

①【例】We have built up our business by good service.

我们已用优质服务使生意逐步兴隆起来。

 

②常用以加重语意，有“好好的”，“大大的”，“充足的”等含义。

【例】Are you sure you haven’t seen the missing file? Please have a good look everywhere.

你确定没有见到那份丢失的卷宗吗？请到处好好找找。

 

③用以修饰代表对方［收信人］的词，表示客气。

【例】We should be most happy to receive a reply from your good firm.

如蒙回复，则非常高兴。

 

【3】优惠的

 

【例】We can supply blue pens for immediate delivery. Good terms for large orders.

我们可以供应蓝色钢笔，立即交货。订货数量大，则条件优惠。

 

【4】可靠的，有（支付）能力的

 

常接用for。

【例】This company is considered good for its usual business engagements.

此公司对于通常交易而产生的债务，有支付能力。

 

【5】有效的

 

【例】Our offer is good [firm, open, valid] for three days.

我方报盘3日内有效。

 

【6】好心的

 

【例】Be good enough [Be so good as] to give us an early reply.

盼早日回复。

 

【7】in good time及时地，迅速地

 

【例】We look forward to receiving this merchandise in good time.

我们盼望能及时收到该货。

 

【8】make good补偿，实现（意图等）

 

【例】ln spite of all our efforts, it was not possible to make good the delay of delivery.

尽管我们尽了很大努力，仍无法不延期交货。
