introduce

【1】介绍

 

①【例】This is to introduce ourselves as confectioners and bakers having many years’ experience in this particular line of business.

兹向贵方做自我介绍，我们是甜食和糕饼制造商，经营此行业已有多年，经验丰富。

 

②要表示“向对方（you）介绍某人（sb）”时，要说成introduce sb to you。

【例】It gives us great pleasure to introduce to you by this letter Mr. Brown, a manager of the ABC Trading Company.

我们十分高兴地向您写信介绍ABC贸易公司的经理布朗先生。

 

【2】推销，引进（商品等）

 

①【例】We’d like to introduce your cameras, if your conditions are favourable.

如你方贸易条件优惠，我们想试销你方照相机。

 

②后面接用介词to。

【例】We wish to introduce the Chinese cambric to our market.

我们想把中国麻纱引进我方市场。

 

③过去分词用作定语。

【例】The first major consumer item Sony produced was an audio tape recorder, introduced in Japan in 1950.
