Tip – of – the – tongue Phenomenon
话到嘴边现象
The everyday sense of this phrase is found in psycholinguistics, where the phenomenon is subjected to experimental investigation as part of a theory of speech production. It is shown that people having a tip-of-the-tongue experience are able to recall certain general characteristics of the word, e.g. the number of syllables it has, or its stress pattern; also some phonetic segments are recalled more readily than others. These results suggest that words vary in the accessibility of their phonological representation in the brain, and that certain features of word structure are stored independently of others.
按其日常用法用于心理语言学,是这门学科研究言语产生理论时用实验调查的一种现象。实验证明,有话到嘴边说不出这种经验的人能够回忆词的某些一般特点,例如音节的数目和重音型式;另外某些语音音段相对而言比较容易回忆。这些结果表明,词在大脑的音系表征中各有不同的可及度,而且词结构的某些特征是独立于其他特征而存储的。
