Structural Dependency

结构依赖

A principle used in generative linguistics which asserts that the speaker’s knowledge of language relies on the structural relationships between elements in the sentence rather than on the linear sequence of items. The principle imposes strong constraints on the notion of ‘possible grammatical rule’, and is an essential feature of a theory of universal grammar.

生成语言学的一条原则；按此原则，说话人的语言知识依赖于句子内成分间的结构关系而不是语项的线性序列。这条原则对“可能的语法规则”这一概念施加很强的制约，并且是普世语法理论的一个基本特征。
