A term used in autosegmental phonology for an effect which stems from the principle of autonomy of tiers in the phonological representation: operations which apply to a segment on one tier will not affect any autosegment with which that segment was formerly associated. For example, a tone can be deleted without its corresponding vowel being deleted, and vice versa.

自主音段音系学术语，指音系表征的音层自主原则产生的一种效应：适用于一个音层上某一音段的操作不会影响任何与那个音段有形式联系的自主音段。例如，一个声调可以删除而与其对应的元音不被删除，反过来也一样。
