Verbless
无动词小句
A type of clause recognized in some models of grammatical description (e.g. Quirk Grammar), in which the verb is omitted (and often the subject as well), e.g. When ready, we waited for the signal, Stay at home if possible. Some classical transformational models of analysis would derive such structures using a process of deletion. In later generative studies such constructions have been analysed as base-generated - a type of small clause.
有些语法描写模型承认的一类小句(如夸克语法),其中动词被省略(主语也常省去),例如When ready, we waited for the signal“准备好后我们等信号的发出”,Stay at home if possible“如有可能尽量呆在家里”。一些传统转换语法模型用删除来派生这类结构。后来的生成语法将这些构式分析为由基础生成的构式—一类小小句。
