whiz-删除

A term used in earlier models of generative grammar to refer to a transformational rule which deletes a relative pronoun and its associated verb from a relative clause to produce a postmodifying phrase, e.g. the woman who was in the street becoming the woman in the street.

生成语法有时用来指一条转换规则从一个关系小句中删除一个关系代词和相连的动词，从而产生一个后修饰短语，例如the woman who was in the street“那个街上的女人”变为the woman in the street。
