Vocalization

发声[串]

A general term used in linguistics and phonetics to refer to an utterance viewed solely as a sequence of sound. No reference is made to its linguistic structure, and indeed, in such phrases as ‘infant vocalization’, there may be no such structure. In a somewhat more restricted sense, the term is sometimes used referring to the use of sound involving vocal-fold vibration - a vocalization is then ‘any voiced sound’.

语言学和语音学用来泛指仅视作一串音的话段，与这串音的语言结构无关；实际上像“婴儿发声串”这样的音串可能根本不存在语言结构。“发声”一词有时按较狭窄的涵义使用，指声带振动发音，因此“任何一个带声音”都是一次“发声”。
