②使用固定的介词。句式apply to sh for sth。
【例】We have already applied to the bank for an L/C to be opened in you favor.

③apply to sb for sth 可用于被动句中。
【例】In case our company does not have surveying agent at the port of destination, a local competent surveyor may be applied to for survey.

②句式：appoint sb (to be) …（职位）
职位名称前，一般不用冠词。
【例】We should like to know if you could appoint us (to be) your sole agent in our country.
我们想知道你们能否指定我方为在我国的独家代理。
③句式sb as…（职位），职位名称前一般不用冠词。
【例】It was decided last month that you would appoint us as your agent.
上个月已决定你方应委派我方为代理。
④句式：appoint sb to do sth。
【例】In view of the steady increase in the demand for our beauty preparations, we have decided to appoint an agent to handle our export trade with your country.

【2】约定；约会
