①【例】Your early reply will be highly appreciated.

如蒙迅速答复，则非常感激。

 

②可接用动名词。

【例】We shall appreciate your signing and returning one copy of our S/C No.123 enclosed.

你方将附寄的第123号销售确认书签署并退回一份，则我们十分感激。

 

③可接用it + if从句。

【例】We (shall) appreciate it if you will quote us the lowest prices CIFC 5% Port Sudan.

如贵方能报给CIFC 5%苏丹港最低价，则我们很感激。

 

④appreciate可用表示程度的状语加以修饰（如greatly，highly，very much等）。一般这些状语置于appreciate之前；若句子为appreciate it if… 则状语置于it与if之间。有人认为appreciate这个词已含有“非常郑重”之意，greatly等实为多余，应删去；不过实际使用的人还是很多。

【例】We very much appreciate your wish to develop some other items with us and shall be pleased to give you our close cooperation.

非常感谢你方要同我方开展其他商品业务的愿望，我们乐于密切合作。

 

【2】理解；谅解

 

①【例】We hope that you will appreciate our situation and cooperate with us.

希望能谅解我们的处境并予以合作。

 

②接用that从句。

【例】We appreciate that you do not want to use these damaged machines as they are.

我们理解你们不愿使用损坏成现在这样的机器。

 

【3】涨价；增值

 

【例】The prices of consumer goods have all appreciated since then.

自那时起所有消费品的价格都有所上涨。
