【1】费用，价钱
①常用复数表示“某某费用”。
【例】That can be arranged provided you bear the additional charges.
假如你们负担增加的费用，那就能安排照办。
②在有“否定”“单项”的含义或其他习语中，常用单数。
【例】We shall send you the samples free of [ without] charge.
我们将免费寄送这些样品。
③charge后可接用for。
【例】Under the CIF terms, the seller has to pay freight charges, marine insurance fee and any charges for unloading at the port of dischange.
按照CIF条件,卖方必须负担运输费、海上保险费和发生在卸货港上的任何卸货费用。

②句式：charge… (amount of money) to one’s account。

【例】We regret to inform you that your account is still charged with the amount of US $2000 for the shipment of spare parts.

④过去分词用作定语。

【1】特许状，执照
