【2】使高兴，使欣喜

 

多用过去分词delighted (=pleased, happy, glad)作表语，句式：be delighted。

①接用介词短语。

【例】We are delighted at your positive response to our offer.

你方对我方报盘作出了积极的响应，我们很高兴。

 

②接用不定式。

【例】We shall be delighted to receive your reply soon.

若能很快收到回复，我们一定很高兴。

 

③接用从句。

【例】We were delighted that they were successful in their advertising campaign.

他们的广告宣传活动很成功，我们感到高兴。

（债务、税款）拖欠的

 

【例】We are sure that you have received our previous letters asking for payment of your delinquent account.

先前几次要求你方偿付拖欠账目的信件，想必已收到。

盼早日赐复。

 

【4】运交的货物

 

【例】Our clients are quite satisfied with the deliveries.

我方客户对运交的货物十分满意。

 

【5】（货物的）运交，交付

 

①【例】If this shop offers home delivery, I will buy the machine.

如果这家商店送货上门，我就买那台机器。

 

②请注意前面所用的介词。

【例】We guarantee that payment will be made on delivery of the goods.

我们保证交货时付款。

 

③注意与动词的搭配。

【例】We shall do our best to expedite delivery.

我们将尽力迅速交货。

 

④可用作定语。

【例】Will you please state your earliest delivery date, terms of payment and discounts for regular purchases.

请告知最早交货日期、经常性订货的付款条件和折扣。
