大家晚上好！
I am very happy to meet with you both online and offline to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. On behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Belgium, I would like to extend a warm welcome to friends and colleagues from all across the society from both Belgium and China, and I express heartfelt thanks to all the people who support China’s development and care about China-Belgium friendship over the years.
很高兴同大家在线上和线下相聚，共同庆祝中国共产党百年华诞。我谨代表中国驻比利时大使馆，对中比各界朋友和使节同事莅临招待会表示热烈欢迎，向长期支持中国发展、心系中比友好的各界人士表示衷心感谢。
On July 1, 1921, the Communist Party of China was born, and a new chapter in the Chinese history has since opened. For 100 years, from the founding of the Party, to New China’s transformation, to the drastic change of the reform and opening up, to the historic achievements and changes of the CPC and its undertakings since the 18th National Congress, the CPC has led the Chinese people towards great achievement attracting worldwide attention, and made important contributions to world peace and development.
1921年7月1日，中国共产党诞生，中国历史从此掀开了崭新的篇章。100年来，从建党的开天辟地，到新中国的改天换地，到改革开放的翻天覆地，再到党的十八大以来中国党和国家事业取得历史性成就、发生历史性变革，中国共产党带领中国人民取得了举世瞩目的成就，也为世界的和平与发展做出了重要贡献。
The century-long history of the Communist Party of China records an arduous journey of laying the cornerstone for a great cause from scratch despite great hardship and many difficulties, yet it is also full of miracles. Since its birth, the Communist Party of China has shouldered the historical mission of saving the nation from perils and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. China in modern history has suffered from national humiliation, its sovereignty being transgressed and its people verging on losing all livelihoods. Various plans to save the country from the predicaments failed. After 28 years of arduous struggle, the Chinese Communist Party led the people towards national independence and liberation. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it took decades for China to complete the industrialization process that took Western developed countries hundreds of years, and China created the “two miracles” rarely seen elsewhere in the world, namely rapid economic development and long-term social stability. Today China has achieved a large number of iconic achievements in manned spaceflight, lunar exploration projects, quantum communications, supercomputing, deep submarine diving, and large aircraft manufacturing. The remarkable progress is achieved by the CPC leading the Chinese people to work hard and surmount difficulties. As General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out, in today’s world, if you want to say which political party, which country, which nation can be confident, then the Communist Party of China, the People’s Republic of China, and the Chinese nation have the most reason to be confident.
中国共产党的百年是筚路蓝缕、艰苦创业、历尽艰辛又充满神奇的百年。中国共产党自诞生之日就肩负起挽救民族危亡、实现中华民族伟大复兴的历史使命。近代中国曾经饱受屈辱，主权沦丧，民不聊生，各种救国方案均以失败告终。中国共产党领导人民经过28年艰苦卓绝的斗争，实现了民族独立和人民解放。新中国成立后，中国用几十年时间走完了西方发达国家几百年走过的工业化历程，并创造了世所罕见的经济快速发展、社会长期稳定“两大奇迹”。今天的中国取得了载人航天、探月工程、量子通信、超级计算、海底深潜、大飞机制造等一大批标志性成果。这些举世瞩目的成就，是中国共产党带领中国人民艰苦奋斗、攻坚克难取得的。正如习近平总书记指出，当今世界，要说哪个政党、哪个国家、哪个民族能够自信的话，那中国共产党、中华人民共和国、中华民族是最有理由自信的。
The centenary of the Communist Party of China is a centenary of seeking happiness for the Chinese people. In old China, the majority of the people, especially the peasants who made up the vast majority of the Chinese population, lived a life of hunger and cold. After the founding of New China, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, China established a people’s democratic dictatorship and a people’s congress system. The Chinese people have truly become the masters of the country, society and their own destiny. In China, there is progress in providing nursing for children, education for students, employment, medical care for the sick, care-taking for the elderly, and housing. All these have increased people’s sense of security and fulfillment. In 2020, China will complete the mission of poverty alleviation in the new era as scheduled, eliminate absolute poverty and overall regional poverty, and create a miracle in the history of human society’s fight against poverty. In the face of the sudden outbreak of the COVID-19, General Secretary Xi Jinping instructed that “In order to protect the safety of people’s lives, we can afford everything”. From babies born only 30 hours to elderly people over 100 years old, every person counts, and people’s lives, values and dignity are well protected. This is the most vivid embodiment of respecting and protecting human rights. These facts fully show that the Communist Party of China has always put the people at the center and sought happiness for the people for the past century.
中国共产党的百年是为中国人民谋幸福的百年。在旧中国，广大人民尤其是占中国人口绝大多数的农民过着饥寒交迫的生活。新中国成立后，在中国共产党的领导下，中国确立了人民民主专政的国体和人民代表大会制度的政体，中国人民真正成为国家、社会和自己命运的主人。中国在幼有所育、学有所教、劳有所得、病有所医、老有所养、住有所居、弱有所扶上持续取得新进展，人民群众的获得感、幸福感、安全感不断增强。2020年，中国如期完成新时代脱贫攻坚目标任务，消除了绝对贫困和区域性整体贫困，创造了人类减贫史上的奇迹。面对突如其来的新冠肺炎疫情，习近平总书记作出了“为了保护人民生命安全，我们什么都可以豁得出来”的指示，从出生仅30多个小时的婴儿到100多岁的老人，每一个生命都得到全力护佑，人的生命、人的价值、人的尊严得到悉心呵护，这是尊重和保护人权的最生动体现。这些事实都充分说明，百年来中国共产党始终以人民为中心，为人民谋幸福。
The century of the Communist Party of China is a century of fighting for the progress of all mankind. From the “five principles of peaceful coexistence” since the founding of the People’s Republic of China to the “building a community with a shared future for mankind”, “building a new type of international relations”, and the “Belt and Road” proposed since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China has always been committed to “building world peace, promoting global development and international order”. China has established various forms of partnerships with 110 countries and international organizations, among which 60 are comprehensive strategic partnerships. China has become a stabilizer and driving force for global economic growth. China has contributed more than 30% to world economic growth for many consecutive years. China has provided a large number of free aid and concessional loans to developing countries, provided a large amount of technical support, personnel support, and intellectual support. It has built a large number of economic and social development and people’s livelihood improvement projects. It has always been a good friend and partner of developing countries.
中国共产党的百年是为全人类进步事业而奋斗的百年。从新中国成立以来的“和平共处五项原则”，到中国共产党第十八次全国代表大会以来的“构建人类命运共同体，构建新型国际关系，共建‘一带一路’”，中国始终致力于“做世界和平的建设者，全球发展的贡献者，国际秩序的维护者”。中国与110个国家和国际组织建立了不同形式的伙伴关系，其中全面战略伙伴关系达60对。中国成为全球经济增长的稳定器和动力引擎，连续多年对世界经济增长贡献率超过30%。中国为广大发展中国家提供了大量无偿援助、优惠贷款，提供了大量技术支持、人员支持、智力支持，建成了大批经济社会发展和民生改善项目，始终是发展中国家的好朋友、好伙伴。
In Secretary General Xi Jinping’s speech at the ceremony marking the centenary of the Communist Party of China, he said that through the continued efforts of the whole Party and the entire nation, China has realized the first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. This means that we have brought about a historic resolution to the problem of absolute poverty, and we are now marching in confident strides toward the second centenary goal of building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects. On the journey ahead, we will remain committed to promoting peace, development, cooperation, and mutual benefit, to an independent foreign policy of peace, and to the path of peaceful development. We will work to build a new type of international relations and a human community with a shared future, promote high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative through joint efforts, and use China’s new achievements in development to provide the world with new opportunities. The Party will continue to work with all peace-loving countries and peoples to promote the shared human values of peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy, and freedom. We will continue to champion cooperation over confrontation, to open up rather than closing our doors, and to focus on mutual benefits instead of zero-sum games. We will oppose hegemony and power politics, and strive to keep the wheels of history rolling toward bright horizons. The Party and the Chinese people will keep moving confidently forward in broad strides along the path that we have chosen for ourselves, and we will make sure the destiny of China’s development and progress remains firmly in our own hands. In the meantime, China also respects the right of all countries to choose their own social system and development path, respects the differences among different cultures, and is always ready to reduce misunderstanding and estrangement among different civilizations and turn diversity into the dynamism for development.
习近平总书记在庆祝中国共产党成立100周年大会上庄严宣告，经过全党全国各族人民持续奋斗，我们实现了第一个百年奋斗目标，在中华大地上全面建成了小康社会，历史性地解决了绝对贫困问题，正在意气风发向着全面建成社会主义现代化强国的第二个百年奋斗目标迈进。习近平总书记强调，中国将高举和平、发展、合作、共赢旗帜，奉行独立自主的和平外交政策，坚持走和平发展道路，推动建设新型国际关系，推动构建人类命运共同体，推动共建“一带一路”高质量发展，以中国的新发展为世界提供新机遇。中国共产党将继续同一切爱好和平的国家和人民一道，弘扬和平、发展、公平、正义、民主、自由的全人类共同价值，坚持合作、不搞对抗，坚持开放、不搞封闭，坚持互利共赢、不搞零和博弈，反对霸权主义和强权政治，推动历史车轮向着光明的目标前进。中国共产党和中国人民将在自己选择的道路上昂首阔步走下去，把中国发展进步的命运牢牢掌握在自己手中。同时，中国也尊重各国自主选择社会制度和发展道路的权利，尊重文化的差异性，致力于消除疑虑和隔阂，把世界多样性转化为发展活力和动力。

2021 is not only the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, but also the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belgium, so it is a year of special significance. 100 years ago, a group of young Chinese intellectuals came to Belgium for work-study programs, and also to seek the way towards achieving national independence. Some of them inspired by the Marxist thoughts, joined the Chinese Communist Party, and became the backbone of the Chinese revolution. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese nation ushered in a great leap forward from regaining national dignity, to becoming prosperous and strong. After the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belgium in 1971, the scope and depth of cooperation between the two countries have been continuously improved, achieving leapfrog development. These tremendous achievements cannot be attained without the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China. We believe that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the new era will bring more and more opportunities to countries in the world including Belgium. We sincerely hope that more and more friends from all countries will follow, participate in and benefit from China’s development.
2021年既是中国共产党成立100周年，也是中比建交50周年，因此是一个具有特殊意义的年份。100年前，中国一批青年知识分子来到比利时勤工俭学，寻求实现民族独立的良方。他们当中的一部分先进代表接受了马克思主义思想启蒙，加入中国共产党，成为中国革命的中坚力量。新中国成立后，中华民族迎来了从站起来、富起来到强起来的伟大飞跃，中比关系也在1971年建交后，合作水平和层次不断提升，实现了跨越式发展。这些巨大的发展成就背后离不开中国共产党强有力的领导。我们相信，在中国共产党的领导下，新时代的中国将为包括比利时在内的世界各国带来越来越多的机遇。我们衷心希望越来越多的各国朋友关注和参与中国发展，从中国发展中获益。
