A term used in sociolinguistics to refer to the range of languages or varieties of a language available for use by a speaker, each of which enables the speaker to perform a particular social role. The term may also be applied collectively to the range of linguistic varieties within a speech community.

社会语言学术语，指可供一个说话人使用的各种语言或一种语言的各种变体，每一种都能使说话人承担某一特定的社会角色。这个术语也可统指一个言语社会内的各种语言变体。
